Left the car at Jumbo Rocks at about 2:45. I was concerned about having enough daylight but then a couple of miles in I realized I had not set my watch or the car clock back and it was only 2:00. I took dirt roads, Geology Tour Road north to Queen Valley Road and then west on Queen Valley, to Park Blvd. at Hidden Valley. From there I took Park Blvd. to the Boy Scout Trailhead parking lot. On the return I took a road I thought would circle Hidden valley but it turned into a closed service road after 1/4 mile or so. After climbing out of that hole I went up Salton View Road to Lost Horse Mine Road with the intent of trying to find out if it goes through to Geology Tour Road. My GPS app does not show the road but a nice European couple stopped and showed me their map from which I determined it is a dead end road.
I rode back the way I came and took Park Blvd. back to the car at Jumbo Rocks, loaded up and drove home.
It was 77 degrees at the middle of the ride and 62 when I got back to the car and about 5:05. A very pleasant afternoon.
