I left home in a rush about 5:15. I failed to start the phone app until I was .7 miles out. I got to Amboy road at mile 9.5 just as the sun set and ended up riding the last 4-5 miles in darkness. I used my "touring sandals" and pedals which worked well and was comfortable. I wanted to test this combination because I plan to ride to Indio to spend the night soon and I want to use his setup. It looks like it will be a good way to go. I will not need to take any off the bike footwear.
It was a nice evening with mild temperatures and wind. All in all a good ride after a week off.
