Did a quick 1/2 hour around park in the twilight. Earlier went to Hardware store to try to get a die to clean up the threads on my bunged up axle. It is 3/8" x 26 tpi which is apparently pretty non-standard (24 tpi is common, 26 is apparently a Taiwanese standard). I checked E-Bay and a 26 tpi die is $15. A new axle is about $8. I need to do research to see if all axles of the same size are created equal. The other option is to forget the whole thing. It is a minor issue unless the chain adjusters which will arrive tomorrow will not work well with tight nut.
